If the preseason voting in the USA TODAY Heisman Watch is any indication, Florida's Tim Tebow is in great position to make history.

The Gators quarterback, who won the award after 32 passing touchdowns and 23 rushing scores, starts with seven of 10 first-place votes and 47 total points.

Ohio State's Chris Wells, Missouri's Chase Daniel and Georgia's Knowshon Moreno each had one first-place votes. Wells holds down second place, well behind Tebow at 24 points. Daniel and Moreno is tied for third at 20 points.

Pat White of West Virginia rounds out the top five.

Boy, were we disappointed in the Chosen One's Speech at the Barackopolis! Sure, he delivered it well, and got the commies and the sheeples all riled up--but it won't be remembered like his 2004 speech--I was really expecting something spectacular, he is capable of it, but no, it was just a boring rehash of his campaign stump speech. Not as good as either of the Clintons' or Michelle's for that matter.

After about a dozen OUTRIGHT LIES, I started counting them. Got to 47 and quit--was getting a headache.

That speech could have been given by anyone at any democrat/socialist convention in the last thirty years.

Lost Opportunity for The One.

And after Sen. John McCain's classy advert congratulating his holiness on being the first mulatto to get a major party nomination, and on an historic anniversary to boot, this doodah disses McCain in a mean spirited way. To quote Hillary, "Shame on you, Barack O'Bama."

In a hypothetical he posed in a public speech, that he said had no bearing on what's happening today, by way of emphasizing that it does, he posed the question, and we paraphrase:

If you had one candidate that agreed with you on 100% of the issues, but could deliver on none of them, and another candidate that agreed with you only 50% of the time, but could deliver on that 50%, who do you vote for?

This is the most stunning rejection of Obama by President Clinton so far, and cannot be misunderstood.

Are the Clintons playing Good Cop/Bad Cop with the poor little Indonesian Boy? Time will tell.

Senator Hillary will pay lip service to supporting the Magic Negro and will position herself for a run in 2012, no matter what the results of this election. She must wow the convention tonight with a scathing attack on , not George Bush and his policies (he's not running you know) but John McCain and his... She needs to pull a deal like Reagan did at the '76 republican convention. When the Gipper finished his Speech, every single delegate in the audience was left with their jaw hanging open and realized at that very moment that they had nominated the Wrong Guy (Ford), so powerful was his speech.

Is Hillary up to it? We'll see in a few short hours.

MICHELLE HITS A DOUBLE!!!

Michelle did a GREAT job with her speech last night. It wasn't a spell binder and contained no cool catch phrases, but was good and delivered well. Whoever wrote it did OK. I still see her as a sixties radical racist elitist however, so it didn't soften my view of her, but it was an emotional event--I'm sure the Obamites were moved to tears. You go girl.

Speaking of the convention, what's with those huge RED STARS hanging from the outside of the convention hall? Am I the only one that's noticed them? Our stars are WHITE, it's the commies' stars that are RED...

One of the fox reporters had a great line about "Hugo is not available and Che Guevara is dead"--I can't remember what he was referring to, but it sure is nice to have a rightwing network and to boot--the only one that allows the opposing viewpoint to have their say on a consistent basis. Fox, fair and balanced, with a Pro-American viewpoint--it's so cool!!! And their policy that all the reporterettes have to be Intelligent Hotties makes it all the better. Megyn Kelly for VP!!!

THE BIG HAIRY SCARY GUY

Day 17, 807 on this planet. It's 5:48, partly cloudy, 58 degrees out and Patrick is sleeping peadefully with Junior.


Randall "Tex" Cobb was a heavyweight boxer who retired with a 43-7-1 record. He fought some of the best in his time, and is most noted for going 15 rounds in a title bout with Larry Holmes, around 1981 or so, losing every round, but never backing up, and never going down. At one point in the fight, he turned to the Ref and said, "You're white, help me." The Ref didn't, and Howard Cosell, ringside, was so horrified by the brutality of the fight, retired and never covered boxing again, a thing of which Cobb is very proud to this day.

Cobb was and is a colorful character, and had a career in Hollywood, appearing in about two dozen feature films as the lovable comic BIG HAIRY SCARY GUY kicking people's ass's.

I met Cobb in L.A. around 1983, give or take a year. I saw him in a night Club on PCH. He was leaning up against a bar, with his back to it looking like a huge ugly cave man, with his massive knuckles almost scrapping the floor, very recognizable. I took a very diminutive girl in our group with me, for protection, to go meet him. I said, "You're Tex Cobb, right? I just wanted to shake your hand." We shook and he looked at my slight companion and commented, "I bet she likes to be on top." I mumbled something like, "Uh, yeah, thanks." and we beat a hasty retreat. He definitely was an intimidating figure, and an authentic Western American Hero. So it goes.
