OH BOY!

Junuior came over today and hooked up my new computer. Just checking stuff out.

At Metea Park North, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Sept. 28, 2006.

IS SHE REAL?

It is 8:17 a.m. and Patrick is on his afghan sleeping with one eye open, because he somehow knows we're going somewhere...

Is Janet Jackson a real person, or some sort of cyborg created in a laboratory? In the future , if we ever build android girls, will they be hot or plain? Bet there won't be any ugly models...A Binford 6000 Fat Motherinlaw Cook Android?

Our quote of the day:

"True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation." -- Washington

LET'S HEAT IT UP THIS AFTERNOON, PAUL!!

It is 11:20 a.m. and Patrick is resting comfortably on his nest that he diligently built of his afghan at my feet.

Here's an interesting fact:

1954 was the first year that more tractors were used on U.S. farms than horses and Mules...

I would have thought it would have been much earlier than that--that's 9 years into the Nuclear Age!!!

Took a nice long walk in the woods yesterday with out Patrick--instead, a pretty girl.

Go Gators! Beat the Tide!!!

STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

It is 8:15 a.m. and Earthdog Patrick is on his afghan at my feet.

today's quote:

EVERY DOG IS ENTITLED TO ONE BITE

lots of controversy about the fans booing at the Kentucky game, when Coach took Tim Tebow out in the Red Zone and let Leak try for the touchdown. After Tebow running at will with three carries for almost seventy yards, Leak merely added to his negative rushing yardage. Don't quite know what the point of all that was, but we're not going to second-guess Meyer at this point.

I remember at Florida Field, when Spurrier failed to get a first down, we would all yell" put in Peacock", who was the third string QB. We're hard to please. I think a lot of fans don't realize that Leak is already roughly third on most record lists for QB's at Gainesville, with better than half a year to go...

It would have been nice to let Tebow grab a passing TD (One was called back, Saturday) and the Kentucky game is one of the few this year that we'll probably have the luxury of fooling around.

The schedule from hell starts now with Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia coming up-- all ranked teams that area either undefeated or with one loss...

If Meyer uses Tebow and Percy, we can do it...

SPURRIER MUST BE CRUSHED IN THE SWAMP!!!

LETS TRY A PHOTO.

GUESS NOT. OH WELL

WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS

It's 5:15 a.m. est, and Patrick is here with me, diligently licking off the rainwater from his footsies.

Does Notre Dame have some sort of pact with the Devil? If so, isn't it about time it expired?

Let's see if the image deal is working today, shall we?

Wait, I just thought of a few things for my pet peeve department.

1. How about this new convention of displaying phone numbers with a period instead of a dash, e.g.: 555.2734....
Who makes this stuff up and why? Trend setters who do it just to exercise their power for the fun of it. That's OK--but what about the phonies who follow them? Just like those artsy-fartsy soodoe intellectuals who started pronouncing Don Quixote as " Don Quicks-Oat". What infaaantile snobs!!!
2. Fat people who pile their plates sky high at all-you-can-eat buffets when what they should be doing is skipping lunch.
3. Anybody with a cell phone glued to their ear while driving, wether it by a car or a shopping cart.
4, Unfriendly dogs
Uh, well this could go on forever, better quit while we're ahead.
GO GATORS!!! 4-0 #5 WITH A BULLET!!
OK, guess the photo feature is not working today. wish I knew the scedule...

GO GATORS!

It's 6:31 a.m. and I'm at Junior's digs, Patrick is asleep, I assume, in his crate at home.

Listened to Mick call the Gator game vs. Wildcats last night, with Junior.. Really lackluster perf during first half. That redzone fourth quarter was bizzarro! Can't wait to read what the pundits have to say. Was Urban holding open tryouts for quarterback or what?

Wish Tebow and Percy would play more. Maybe Urbin is holding them back for a championhsip game? heh heh.

Dukie the eskimo dog just wandered in. I think he fell out of bed, I heard a thud.
Junior got his super Car GPS--we'll have to plan a trip to try it out...(Maggie Roadmate 3000) or was that Binford 3000?

NEGROES ARE STILL SLAVES IN AMERICA

It is 7:02 a.m. and Patrick is here with me, busily building a nest on his afghan, having just gotten back inside and consumed his morning dog-cookie. A bit of scratching and licking and he'll be good to go for a log nap.

The vacant senate seat race in Maryland is heating up, where a Republican Black Man is running against a democrat White Man.

National and state and local Black Leaders have endorsed the Black Republican-NOT!! They've endorsed the old White Guy. Curious, eh? What the hell's going on there? Guess they think there are enuff Blacks in the Senate already. Name one. OK, name one whose an American, not an African.

You tell me why Blacks vote NINETY PER CENT democrat in elections. They're still on the Plantation, politically, dancing to the tune of their political masters. Am I out of line here? They know it's the democrat party that pushes an agenda of favoratism for them and continuation of welfare and free cheese, and all, but come on! Can't they break ranks for just an instant to get a Black in the Senate? Or are black Republicans Uncle Tom traitors?

Read this graph from AP writer Kristen Wyatt:

"The KKK, never a political party, was a racist group of white men that started in the South after the Civil War, when Republicans were almost unheard of in former Confederate states. The mainstream Democratic Party never endorsed the Klan nor claimed to have founded it."

THERE'S NOT A WORD OF TRUTH IN IT, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THE KKK STARTED AFTER THE WAR AND WAS MADE UP OF WHITE RACISTS. EVERY OTHER WORD IS A LIE.

This Kristin person is either a middle aged Liberal Lesbian who knows she's lying, or a 25 year old, newly minted reporterette airhead blonde bimbo, who couldn't tell you what century the Civil War occured in. My vote is for the latter.

The weather here is gorgeous. Tomorrow is Fall. Praise the Lord!!!

SPURRIER MUST BE STOPPED IN THE SWAMP!

GO GATORS!!
And Patrick sleeps....

MR. CLINGY

It's 8:42 a.m. and Patrick is on my lap.

The little white dog has been extra affectionate this morning. He only acts that way when in the Truck or when he wants something. All his normal needs have been taken care of, so I don't know what his deal is. Normally at this time he would be back in bed snoozing, with a lip curling snarl if I even got within ten feet of him. But now he's suffering me to pet him and kiss him, so something's going on but I don't know what.

Every game is a national championship game for the #5 Gators now. Last time I checked they were 23 point favorites over the Wildcats, who haven't beat the Gators in the Swamp for about a million years. Watch out, fellahs, don't get to over-confident. Remember the Championship is YOURS TO LOSE.

Getting harder and harder to type with dog-boy's head on my forearm. Cheers!

WHERE IS THE TOOTH FAIRY?

It's 5:49 a.m. and Patrick is at my feet, curled up in his afghan, dreaming doggy dreams.

Meridith Viera worked her first day on her new gig on the Today Show, and my, oh my, she looked ten years younger than when she was on the view, and perkier than Katie. Hotter, too. I think she must have had some work done between jobs...???

Well, shall we try to upload an image, again--didn't work yesterday, did it? OK, here goes.

Hey, it worked! That's Junior, Patrick and Bri.

HOLLOW VICTORY

Good Morning, Indiana! It's 5:47 a.m. and the little white canine is still in bed.

Just saw a clip of a high school football game, in which the offense ran a quick play while the defense was on the sidelines. The defense rushed out onto the field, but it was too late, a touchdown was scored. There was no time out called... Hope they didn't win by seven.

Here at the dog yard, we believe this gas-price collusion deal is outrageous. Prices at the pump change dramatically all at once--every station in town. How do they do it? And why the price of gas changes with every little whim of the market is beyond me. If the spot price of steel goes up, do car manufacturers slap a price increase on all cars on their dealers' lots? No.

Today's quote is a famous one:

"Heav'n has no rage, like love to hatred turn'd
Nor Hell a fury, like a woman scorn'd."

-- Congreve

SPURRIER MUST BE DEFEATED IN THE SWAMP!!

Gators are 2-0 and ranked No. Six in the Nation. If we lose EVERY GAME for the rest of the year save one, that one must be in the Swamp vs. South Carolina.

IT'S OK

It's 4:57 a.m. and Patrick is outside, where it's rainy.
Yesterday's photos were of Pears, walnuts and marigolds.

GATORS HAVE MOVED UP TO NUMBER SIX IN USA TODAY POLL!

Katie Couric ended her week in third place on friday. Oops! Even with Walter Cronkite introducing her and all. We watched Tuesday, just so we could see Rush. That night, her Anti-Bush, Anti-War propaganda only lasted six minutes, but she did throw in an extra 2 minutes of anti-Republican crap.
Saw a piece on TV about a dolphin, a baby that was rescued, and is in Clearwater (yea!). He somehow lost his tail. Estimate for a prosthetic tail (and they have been made before) is a cool one hundred grand. What????
Hey I'll take that job and throw in a prosthetic SUV to haul him around in and still make a cool profit! He'll need 3 or 4 of them as he grows, so you're looking at a half a mil (What no quantity discount?) . They've started raising the money. This is insane--why not spend the money on prosthetics for HUMANS who can't afford them? Or some other suitable charity? Here in America, of course. These are the same people who will be voting for your president. Like democracy now?
I love bottle nose dolphins. I used to watch porpoises roll around in Tampa Bay. As a youth I made a study of them. I remember one book I read said that potentially their brains were better than ours. Weighed more and more folds per square inch...
Now I like them because they are a wonderful example of how foolish Darwinism is and a great little bit of evidence for what they call intelligent design. They have fossile evidence, they say, of the evolution of dolphins' physical sonar equipment. How it evolved into the sophisticated, intricate system it is today. What they don't tell you is WHY it evolved, considering the fact that all the interim stages were useless--Like building a truck on an assembly line--no good til it finally rolls off at the end. (there are blueprints)--They never talk about that.

Let's try the images.

HOME ALONE

It's 5:47 a.m. and I am at Junior's new college digs at his granmaws. Patrick is in his crate (hopefully) being a good boy, with no adult supervision.
We listened to Nick Hubert call the Gator game last night, what a hoot! I guess Leak's performance will quiet the Tebow supporters a bit. Tim started out great, then faltered a bit. But it bodes well for the rowdy reptiles!! A few top 25 teams seem to have had a rough go of it Saturday...

Juniors's got DSL high speed here, it sure is fast!

SLEEPING DOGS

It is 10:16 a.m. and Patrick is snoozing in his recliner.

Dogs pack seven years worth of life into every one of our human lives. In Patrick's case, it's even more extreme, since he is awake only four hours a day, his days are really, really short.

'FOX TERRIERS ARE BORN WITH ABOUT FOUR TIMES AS MUCH ORIGINAL SIN IN THEM AS OTHER DOGS." --Jerome K. Jerome --Three Men in a Boat

I've got an idea--Let's try a photo.

That's Patrick, yesterday on a hike in the woods.

FOGGY

It's 6:56 a.m. and Patrick is antsy, cause he knows we're going out. Moon is waxing gibbous with 98% visible disk illuminated.

Caught the first ten minutes of Katie Couric's first newscast, then threw up in my mouth and turned it off. Watching that every nite would make me want to go suck a tailpipe.

She set the tone early and with no mistake: She'll not report the news, she'll editorialize and spin it, creating a beautifully crafted propaganda piece each nite, with the main target being POTUS.

One of her first acts was to "interview" a NY Times reporter!! Arghhhhh!!!!

I can just imagine being a fly on the wall during her negotiations with CBS: "Katie, WE had to jettison that senile old fool Dan RAther, becasue his hatred of George Bush and America was getting just too transparent, what with his making up fake documents and all. We want you to showcase your hatred of Christianity and America in a much more subtle way. Rip GW a new asshole every nite, but with a perky smile and a twinkle in your eye.

"The main thing is to tear down America, get rid of Representative Government and all religion, to prep America to be subservient to a world order run by toothless morons in Africa. WE know that's what you want too. Just don't act that way...."

I hope Americans aren't too dumb to see thru this.

She's MUCH more of a threat to the American Way of Life than Dan Rather ever was.

Gulp.

OH BOY! KATIE COURIC!

It's 6:46 a.m. and Patrick is here at my feet, curled up on his afghan.

Can Tiger Woods get any better?

I heard a rumour that Katie "I'm more comunistic than Dan Rather" Couric was going to feature segments with Rush on the CBS nightly news. I'll believe that when I see it. If he does do it, I hope he stands firm and doesn't pull punches and uses terms like "traitor" and "islamo-fascist". We'll see.

FOURSQUARE

Found an interesting article to share of American Foursquare Houses. Ours is a Turn of the Century Slate Roofed Brick fascade Four Square with 4 bedrooms and bath up and Living room, parlor, dining room and Library down, with kitchen a one story addition on the back (Added on after the house was built, but around the same time), with full basement and attic with three dormers:

American foursquares - the anti-Victorians

Simple, straightforward, the American foursquare style was a welcome change from the highly detailed Victorian designs.

By Les Christie, CNNMoney.com staff writer

This style's undeniable attractions quickly won it a following and it became one of the most popular house designs of the era starting in the late 19th century and running into the 1930s.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- American foursquare is a great name for a housing style. The dictionary defines foursquare as forthright, marked by boldness and conviction; just and fair in business dealings, firm and resolute.

The architectural style is all that. It's an honest, basic look for home buyers who had turned away from the fussy, over-ornamentation of the various high Victorian styles. And, it was a very economical design.

The four equal sides of a house meant it used small, in-town lots efficiently. And paring back on the expensive decorations common in Victorian homes also made foursquares faster and more affordable to build.

The foursquare's uniformity meant many of the building processes, such as sawing and fitting, could be done in bunches, increasing the efficiencies of the workmen.

So many parts of these buildings, such as all of the framework - were so uniform that they could be built in a central plant and shipped to their construction sites. Entire foursquare houses were turned out (in numbered pieces) by Sears Roebuck and other catalogue home companies during the years they were manufacturing and selling houses.

The style's undeniable attractions quickly won it a following and it became one of the most popular house designs of the era starting in the late 19th century and running into the 1930s. So simple is the look and so ubiquitous were the houses, that it almost ceased to be identifiable as a design style.People began to think of it as simply a traditional house. Today, most Americans looking at one would be hard-pressed to call the style by name.

But American foursquare does have its distinctive characteristics. These start with the equal-sides and the massed, cubical shape. Foursquares look substantial, solid. There are often four bedrooms on the second floor flanking the central hall and three rooms downstairs.Nearly all American foursquares sport a deep - sometimes wraparound - front porch where proud owners could relax while they watched out over their neighborhoods and greeted passer-bys.

A large, central dormer often peered out from the front of the attic floor and the roof was hipped or pyramid shaped.

Many American foursquares borrowed much of their detailing from other styles. Builders started with the basic square box and added flourishes from the prairie school or mission, Greek revival and, especially, craftsman designs. These details included built-ins, such as china cabinets or shelving, pocket doors and stained or leaded glass windows. Wood molding and mantles tended to be finely crafted and staircases featured beautifully turned spindles and stately columns and bannisters.

Foursquare builders used some of the excellent building materials that were available then at much lower prices than they can be bought for today. The woods were often mahoganies or virgin golden oak, common and cheap then but to die for now. Walls were plaster and lath and ceilings were high. Sometimes bay windows were added for decoration.

Wood was the exterior material of choice but foursquares were also built of stone, brick or concrete block and sometimes the outside walls were stuccoed. There were often massive overhangs, which protected the sides from weather and shaded upper-story windows during summer months.

The houses were built to last and they did; few cities and towns across the nation lack at least a few good examples of the type. So next time you walk down a neighborhood street, see if you can identify the American foursquares along the way. You may be surprised at how many you find.It was a good, honest, all-American style and Americans embraced it for decades.

American foursquares - the anti-Victorians

Simple, straightforward, the American foursquare style was a welcome change from the highly detailed Victorian designs.

GO GATORS!

It's 8:48 a.m. and Patricks here with me.

Hey, who's the moron that scheduled Southern Miss for the first Gator game? The first two games are supposed to be tune-ups against handicapped high school girls teams. That's what everybody else does. Southern Miss doesn't fall into that category in anybody's playbook...After all, at Number Seven, we're on a championship run here.

Random Thoughts:

Leak sure can't run, eh? That doesn't bode to well for his future.

FreshmanTebow got a gift TD from Meyer. Cool hun?

The defense sure did allow USM to pile up a lot of yardage--but sure did PREVENT about 4 or 5 times in the red zone!!

Why does Moore even get the ball at all?

Ok, enuff of that

Is anybody else annoyed by Jessica Simpsons baby-talk style of singing? ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

The crocadile Hunter died today. I don't know why anybody is surprised. He made his fortune off taking ridiculous risks over and over and over and over and over again for the camera. Would of thought he would have toned it back a bit once he had children. Oh, well, bye Steve.

Today's asshole award: Ohio State's coach--With just seconds to go before the half, and with the score at 28-3 against their opening day putz team (Northern Illinois Huskies), they go for a 45-yard field goal on fourth and ten. Why? Why not just go for it with a pass? (They missed) Don't know what the final score was and don't care--are they ranked second or something? Karma will get them.
