HEISMAN WATCH

Tebow has to win Heisman

For the third time this year, I covered a Florida game for Westwood One Radio. This one was a little painful as I watched them crush Florida State and my old man 45-12.

What I did get to see – again – is one of the most phenomenal years by a college quarterback in the history of the game. Tim Tebow is not just the best choice for the Heisman Trophy, he is the only choice. No football player has ever done what he has this year. He has thrown for more touchdowns than Matt Leinart and run for more touchdowns than Ron Dayne.

Darren McFadden might have had a great year as a tailback, but Tebow has had the greatest year ever as a dual-threat quarterback. It doesn't matter that he is just a sophomore and no sophomore has ever won the award. He had a better year than anyone else in any class. We don't need to make him wait until he is a junior because if things go right for the Gators, he won't duplicate the numbers that he had this season. In fact, if Florida finds the tailback that they need to get back into the championship hunt, Tebow will be able to let someone else run between the tackles all day.

This year he did it all by himself. This year he did it better than it has ever been done before. This year, he did it better than it may ever be done again.

This year, he deserves the Heisman Trophy. --TERRY BOWDEN

More later.

RUBY

Reason #4 we like to watch FOX -- Rebecca Gomez...

It is 6:30 a.m. and 25.9 degrees outside and Earthdog got up and went to sleep downstairs with Junior and Marcum who are resting up from video gaming all night. Decided Saigon was to danerous...

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY:
It is 6:59 a.m. and Patrick is asleep at my feet on his afghan. It is 57.2 degrees out, dark and all that.

TWO YEARS AGO TODAY: It's 7:20 a.m., 37 degrees out, Patrick's still asleep and Junior's at work, a rare first shift.

From Hussein:

“There is no doubt that Bill Clinton had faith in her and consulted with her on issues, in the same way that I would consult with Michelle, if there were issues. On the other hand, I don’t think Michelle would claim that she is the best qualified person to be a U.S. senator by virtue of me talking to her on occasion about the work I’ve done. I think the fact of the matter is that Sen. Clinton is claiming basically the entire eight years of the Clinton presidency as her own, except for the stuff that didn’t work out, in which case she has nothing to do with it.” —Barack Obama

well, yeah...

GO GATORS--Write the great American novel

All the Gators games were televised this year, either by CBS, ESPN, SUN or Liberty Mutual.
And we saw over and over again, the commercial showing the people saying "GoGators!" to each other. It's been around for years, in various iterations. While many sports fans may greet each other with GoColts or GoBears, or whatever, "GoGators" has become a famous signature line for members of the Gator Nation.

So Junior and I saw this guy in a store the other day wearing a Gator sweatshirt. We said to him, in unison, "Go Gators!" --He paused a moment, slightly taken aback, then mumbled "Thank you." WTF???? Must have got the shirt from Goodwill???

GOING TO SAIGON TODAY, LET YOU KNOW HOW IT WAS

FAKE PATRICK

FAKE PATRICK

FAKE PATRICK

FAKE PATRICK

REAL DEAL PATRICK

It is 5:11 and 30.1 degrees out. Earthdog Patrick got up and went downstairs to crawl under the covers with Junior.

Gators beat the Stetson "Hatters" yesterday. How gay!! We decorated our tree last night, we put it up in the Dining Room, as we have the parlor blocked off as a non-heated area/Kayak storage facility. In depth photo essay to follow soon.

FROM THE INBOX VIA KAY:

Dear Children,
It has come to my attention that many of you are upset
that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe
you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during
this time of the year and that it was some of your
predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on
what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although I
do appreciate being remembered anytime.
How I personally feel about this celebration can
probably be most easily understood by those of you who
have been blessed with children of your own. I don't
care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate
My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you
that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene
depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of
Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene
on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that
there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the
town square because there would be many of them all
around town.
Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling
the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree.
It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me
anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you
wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching,
explaining who I am in relation to you and what each
of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one,
look up John 15: 1 - 8.
If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My
birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:
1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to
the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters
of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are
terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know,
they tell Me all the time.
2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have
to know them personally. They just need to know that
someone cares about them.
3. Instead of writing George complaining about the
wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why
don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying
for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It
will be nice hearing from you again.
4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts
you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with
them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came
to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and
remind them that I love them.
5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and
forgive him or her.
6. Did you know that someone in your town will
attempt to take their own life this season because
they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know
who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a
warm smile; it could make the difference.
7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in
your town calls the holiday, be patient with the
people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a
kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a
"Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing
them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the
store didn't make so much money on that day they'd
close and let their employees spend the day at home
with their families
8. If you really want to make a difference, support
a missionary-- especially one who takes My love and
Good News to those who have never heard My name.
9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and
whole families in your town who not only will have no
"Christmas" tree, but neither will they have any
presents to give or receive. If you don't know them,
buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the
Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in
Me and they will make the delivery for you.
10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about
your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a
Christian. Don't do things in secret that you wouldn't
do in My presence. Let people know by your actions
that you are one of mine.
Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself.
Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll
take care of all the rest. Check out the list above
and get to work; time is short. I'll help you, but the
ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed
Christmas with all those whom you love and remember
...
I LOVE YOU ... JESUS

TWOS DAY

JUST SO YOU DON'T FORGET WHAT CORN DOGS LOOK LIKE...

It is 6:18 a.m. and 31.9 degrees outside and Patrick got up and promptly joined Junior on the couch downstairs.

LISTEN:

“Here’s a story that may not have been deemed ‘Fit to Print’: In the six months that ended Sept. 25, The New York Times’ daily circulation was down another 4.51 percent to about a million readers a day. The paper’s Sunday circulation was down 7.59 percent to about 1.5 million readers. In short, The Times is dropping faster than Hillary in New Hampshire... One can only hope that none of the Democratic presidential candidates are among the disaffected hordes lining up to cancel their Times subscriptions. The Times is so accustomed to lying about the news to prove that ‘most Americans’ agree with The Times, that it seems poised to lead the Democrats—and any Republicans stupid enough to believe The Times—down a primrose path to their own destruction... On Sunday, Times readers learned that despite this year’s historic revolt of normal Americans against amnesty for illegal aliens: ‘Some polls show that the majority of Americans agree with proposals backed by most Democrats in the Senate, as well as some Republicans, to establish a path to citizenship for immigrants here illegally.’ Was the reporter who wrote that sentence the Darfur bureau chief for the past year? By ‘some polls,’ I gather he means ‘a show of hands during a meeting of the Times’ editorial board’ or ‘a quick backstage survey in the MSNBC greenroom.’ As I believe Americans made resoundingly clear this year, the only ‘path to citizenship’ they favor involves making an application from Norway, waiting a few years and then coming over when it’s legal... The Times disregards all of that history to announce that it has secret polls showing that Americans support a ‘path to citizenship’ for illegals after all! These polls are living in the shadows!” —Ann Coulter
