Gators Preseason Ranking is #23 in both Coaches and AP polls.

Both QB's, Driskel and Brissett will share playing time in this game.

Florida is 78-27 on opening day, 63-6 in Hogtown. We are #2 in the nation and #1 in the Conference in opening day win streaks. Last year's opener: No. 22 FLORIDA 41, FAU 3

• Bowling Green, a girl's Catholic middle school located somewheres  in Ohio, went 5-7 (3-5 MAC) last year. BIG payday for them today. If they can beat the spread they go home proud!!! They return 17 starters from last year's squad. This will be their toughest game.

Both of these teams are young, Top-Heavy with underclassmen.

NCAA Rules Changes: Teams will kick off at the 35 yard line instead of the 30. Players must line up in between the 30 and 35..

THE NATONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS NOW BEEN officially designated to be a Hate Group due to it's unprecedented (for the modern era) and relentless untrue  scurrilous attacks on Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, and Paul Ryan.  Vice President "Joe" Biden's latest disgraceful remarkabout Republicans that  "They gonna put Ya'll Back In Chains" to a largely African American Audience in the South  has put them over the top and earned them this  shameful designation. Noted historians are likening the Obama campaign's rhetoric to that of the 19th century.   Some party leaders have protested this move by stating the Biden has gone rogue and suffers from early onset dementia, so does not reflect the policies of the party, yet he remains the party's  presumptive nominee...

I just heard Bill Hemmer on Fox news say "Walk softly and carry a big stick"...

This common and persistent misquoting of  President Theodore Roosevelt’s corollary to the Monroe Doctrine has always driven me crazy--and  would not be so onerous if it did not radically change the meaning of the phrase.

If you WALK softly, it implies you're going to sneak up on your opponent and hit him with the big stick.

If you TALK softly, it means you negotiate respectfully, but from a position of great strength to back up your words with the force of the big stick, but only if necessary.

Beginning August 25, Palm Harbor's Muvico Theater will be showing one free Family Film Classic on Saturdays and Sundays. These freebie movies run through  September and are in addition to the free movies that the theater features on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, which run through August 16.

EAT MORE CHIKIN

I ate an amazingly delicious chicken sandwich and waffle fries at the Oldsmar  Chik-fil-A yesterday and Rosie had a Chikin Salad and a very good lemonade. It was fun to be part of the Celebration of Freedom and Christianity. The place was  jam packed with happy people. A steady stream of cars going thru the take-out  and the whole time we were there, a line of people wound around the interior, about 50 feet long. They ran out of (horrors) tomatoes. Wonderful to see. Later, at Grumpy's Tap Room in old Palm Harbor, while quaffing beers and watching the Olympics, we talked with a guy who went to the Celebration at another store. He said that place was packed as well. It's good to be an American, even when our values and traditions are under assault by traitors and commies, we can still come together and stand up for what is right in a world that has lost its way.
