It is 8:09 a.m and 55.3 degrees outside. Patrick is curled up on his afghan, sleeping at my feet.

Well, since the War Eagles dismantled the Gators in the Swamp last night, I have to endure emails like this one:

What a disastrous day for the top 25!!!!!!

OK, let's make some lemonade:

There are two ways you can look at this, and remember, nobody said this team had to go undefeated.

Options:

1. The Gators will not win another SEC game. LSU, Georgia, USCe, etc.

2. Last year repeats itself! Gators go undefeated except for a loss to Auburn, win another National Championship.

Or somewhere in between...

Will the Gators get back up for LSU?????

(Oh, and just for the record: Urban's time out right before the snap of the winning field goal, forcing them into a do-over: We don't need to resort to THAT kind of trickery. I know it's been done before, but here at the Dogyard, that borders on UNSPORTSMANLIKE. Just left a bad taste in our mouth. We don't want to win that way.)

WOULDN'T IT BE A HOOT IF THE BULLS END UP MONDAY MORNING RANKED HIGHER THAN THE GATORS?

It is 4:45 a.m. and 52.9 degrees out. Patrick is still in bed.

Getting ready to go to a Geocaching CITO event at a Cemetery west of Indy.

The Number 18 South Florida Bulls did us proud last night, beating Number 5 West Virginia 21-13. WV didn't score a TD until the fourth quarter.Their other six points were field goals.

The Bulls dominated the game until the waning minutes, then held on for an historic Victory.

The tone was set early. The Hooyahs (Don't know what they're called, the announcers never mentioned it). came out , in their first possession, with a play designed to fool the Bulls and provide long yardage and demoralize their young foes. Didn't work. They tried another. Nope. And another. They should have stuck to basics. Three and out.

So the Bulls came out and promptly started posting first downs. An exciting game and now I wonder If they'll crack the TOP TEN? Probably not, but depending on what happens today, they should move up to #15 at least, I should think...

Calderon has criticised the U.S. Congress, calling lawmakers insensitive for failing to pass immigration reform.

PUERTO PENASCO, Mexico — Mexican President Felipe Calderon told U.S. governors Thursday that immigration is an inevitable, natural phenomenon and he urged the U.S. Congress to approve reforms that would allow more Mexicans to work legally north of the border.

Calderon demanded that the United States respect "the right to work wherever one can make the greatest contribution."

"Immigration is a natural phenomenon that is economically and socially inevitable," he told the meeting in this Sonora seaside resort town.

In a rare acknowledgment of the costs of migration for Mexico, Calderon said his country "doesn't not celebrate migration ... our best people are the ones who go."

Immigration and border security were among the top issues at the meeting, the 25th annual such event between Mexican and U.S. governors from states along the two countries' common border. Mexican officials were focused on stopping the illegal flow of U.S. weapons into Mexico and protesting expansion of U.S. border fencing. For the Americans, the drug trade, migration and border security topped the list.
