MORE ON HANOI JANE
From John Carmichael's blog, this snippet from several years ago:
I understand Jane Fonda has suggested regret for her "naive" actions but it is my right to not believe her sincerity. I may be wrong and she may be honestly regretful, but my father and the fathers of thousands of other kids, put their lives on the line, for Duty, Honor, and Country and flew over that very Anti-Aircraft emplacement. Fortunately my father returned, many didn't. Sorry Jane I have no place in my heart for you and yours, and probably never will. I remember! Unlike most of today's historically naive youth. And that is what I find truly unfortunate, because it is their lack of knowledge that leads to such callous and insensitive actions in the first place.
You have to ask yourself why so many of our Air Force pilots and Naval Aviators proudly wore this patch (and a number of similar ones), even after the war's conclusion, albeit sometimes on the inside of their flight jackets due to politically correct pressures. And if you want an excellent summation of the answer, I point you to this response from John Dennison (runs the First Cav Medic Airmobile site) to a Jane Fonda political activist's letter received during the last campaign.
