It's 7:04 PM and Junior's at work, and Patricks here with me, he just had a bath.
Gators only dropped two spots to Seventh in the USA Today Poll. Huh!
Got stuck in the mud on the lake bottom of Salamonie Lake( Flood Control Reservoir controlled by Dam) today with Patrick. Lake is practically down to just the River going thru it. Saw foundations of some buildings. Was following a deer herd trail out to an island, the mud got to wet, too quick. Couldn't move my feet. MIckey boots were encased in cement like mud up to their tops. Got out of my Mickeys, took ten minutes of extreme effort to free them, by then had lost my socks. Bare feet in the 37 degree mud. Had to keep moving around to keep from sinking too deep. Eshausted at the effort. Trudged back to shore line beach, throwing the boots, one at a time about two steps ahead of me until I got my second wind and carried them out They weigh three pounds each, about, three times that with mud on them. Patrick had four mudballs on his little feet. Got to beach exhausted at the effort, put mud encrusted feet into Mickeys and hiked the mile back to truck. Took an hour when we got back home to hose off me, dog, boots, clothes. Oddly enough feet weren't cold during whole ordeal...Maybe it was a little drier when the deers did it? I don't know. We were lucky, that's for sure. I don't think we were in any real danger, just a sorry uncomfortable mess. I was stuck in Bay Mud in Florida once, tho, that was sucking me down down down and survived that, had help getting pulled out, that WAS a dicey situation.
Patrick was a real trooper on our little excursion today, he's a good dog.
