Gators unranked in AP hoops poll
It's official, Associated Press members and coaches don't expect much from the two-time defending national champion Florida men's basketball team.
The Gators were in the Others-receiving-votes category of The Associated Press preseason poll released today. That was the same category the Gators, who received 35 votes, were selected to in the USA Today coaches poll.
Florida was the preseason No. 1 last year and the Gators went on to repeat as national champions. The players who started on the two title teams are gone.
North Carolina was selected as the preseason No. 1 team. UCLA, Memphis, Kansas and Georgetown round out the top five.
