HE GETS IT: IT'S PERSONAL
It's 5:52 a.m. and wandering Patrick (Who now a TB) has journeyed downstairs to take up with Junior.
Went to the funeral of Staff Sergeant Paul Pabla of Huntington, Ind. yesterday. He was Killed in Action last week in Iraq. It was an AMAZING display of patriotism by about 150 Patriot Guard Riders and the people of Huntington County--very moving. About six members of the Evil Cult gang showed up and disgraced themselves. I will give a full account of this event later.
Suffice it to say, for now: The Preacher gets it.
The Pastor who officiated at the Memorial Service at the High School auditoium said, and I paraphrase, poorly:
" I have a specific memory of two elderly veterans standing at attention saluting the flag as it went by in a parade, with tears streaming down their faces, that I have never forgotten. Now I have an inkling of what it is they felt. I will never watch the flag pass in a parade again without remembering Paul. Now, it's personal."
yep.
I stood shoulder to shoulder in formation with my brothers and sisters in the Patriot Guard yesterday and was extremely honored to do so.
God Bless our Country.
