This is what a REAL judge looks like...

It is 32.0 degrees, our first freeze of the season, at 4:47 a.m. Junior and Patrick are asleep downstairs.

Well, as anybody who reads this blog knows, I hate incompetence and hypocrisy. I fought it for 20 years in the corporate world, with little thanks.

Len Goodman, senior judge of Dancing with the Stars, revealed his dark side on last night's program with his astounding statement in answer to the question of why he gave Brooke Burke a nine when the other judges gave her tens.

"I cannot give a ten to a jitterbug!" he proudly stated.

WHAT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

That silly notion is patently unfair to the contestants that were assigned the Jitterbug. Their highest possible score then became a 29, while the other contestants had the opportunity to score a 30.

This is not a swim competition, Len: You don't assign points for difficulty, or take them away because YOU don't like the dance.

YOU'RE THERE TO JUDGE THE DANCER, NOT THE DANCE, LEN.

I'd hate to have him a judge in a professional competition. He's not qualified.

Your task is simple Len: JUDGE THE DANCE PERFORMANCE ON A TEN POINT SCALE.

IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT YOU STICK TO THE RULES AND DON'T MAKE UP YOUR OWN?

Len Badman should recuse himself, apologize publicly, and quit both Dance Contest Shows. His credibility is now forever tarnished. He should never judge another Dance, professional, amateur, or theatrical.

He made a gross error in judgement and an ethical mistake. Maybe he needs to rethink his position. Maybe it's time to retire, Len. The other judges have commented on his inconsistency, in demanding precise adherence to "proper dances" one night and applauding creative modification the next; fawning over sexuality one night, and being righteously indignant about it the next. He's both a nincompoop and and old fart.

Unless he comes clean, of course.

He acts like our U.S. Supreme Court that contains ultra-Liberals who make up their own rules by paying attention to international or foreign law and decide cases, not based on the Constitution, but whatever their prevailing political or (im)moral feelings are on a subject. They should resign in shame as well.

On a more pleasant note, Patrick was well pleased with his latest raw-hide bone and has completely dismantled and consumed it, all but for a few small pieces. Good Job, Dog-Man!!
