"Yesterday the Internet lit up with a South Carolina recruit saying Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin told him that if he signed with the Gamecocks he would be pumping gas for the rest of his life.

Although wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey says he was surprised by Kiffin's comment and his coach Walter Wilson said it was done in the heat of recruiting, Kiffin said it never happened.

"That's not the way we're going to do things here, and it's something I don't condone," Kiffin told ESPN. "Things get said all the time in recruiting, but I don't know where (the pumping gas comment) came from."

While we are on Kiffin, this AOL Fan House blog report says one of the quotes the Vols' coach made about beating Florida is now blown up and posted in the Gators' locker room. The two teams play at Florida on Sept. 19."
