Gators a top seed in NIT
Florida will be staying close to home for the National Invitation Tournament.
The Gators earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT and face Jacksonville on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the O'Connell Center.
The game will not be televised live but will be broadcast on the Gator Radio Network (850 AM, Gainesville).
"We're grateful for the opportunity to continue our season at the NIT," Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "We're looking forward to the opportunity to continue to practice and grow as a team."
Earlier Sunday evening, Florida became the first national champion to fail to make the NCAA Tournament the next two seasons when they didn't earn an at-large berth in the field of 65.
