It is 5:39 a.m. at 45.9 degrees with a Wind Advisory. They are talking snow next week. and Patrick is still in bed and Junior is off at friends in the Fort. POLITICS: Well, the SarahCudda Concert in the Fort today is not for us. Tried to get tickets, which I think will probably be needed for this one, but they were sold out. The Fort Wayne Republican HQ sold out 8,000 in two hours, people lined up at four in the morning. So it goes. More later. DOGS: We have a new farm store in town, our first--sort of a cross between TSC and Big R. They have Diamond Dog Food on sale, so this is good , we will not have to go to Wabash to get it. We are dropping, at the dogs' request our current stuff, and going back to Diamond (Meat first ingredient, not yellow corn), which they ate when they were young and in training. Our current food now sports the slogan "With New shapes and colors!" Uh, WTF? Why do I care what shape or color the kibble is? That just makes it more expensive to manufacture, so more costly to me. I don't give a fig what it looks like. What? it's for the dogs? Hardly--I don't think they give two hoots what shape the kibble is, and I KNOW they are colorblind. They just wolf it down, it takes them about 2 minutes to eat it, I doubt they even SEE it at all. OK. The point is the manufacturer is boldly stating that they think we are idiots, and that these colors and shapes impress us. Actually, if the Presidential Polls are taken into account, we ARE idiots, so maybe they are right.
POLITICS: OK, SO YOU GUYS VOTING FOR OSAMA ON MY POLL, YOU DO KNOW HE'S A SOCIALIST, RIGHT? AND THAT SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK? AND THAT IT'S BAD FOR AMERICA? OK, JUST SO YOU KNOW. LISTEN:
Our local radio guy got an email relating this story about a guy in the Fort. He ate at a restaurant where the server was wearing an Obama Shirt. When he paid, he told the waiter words to this effect while holding up three dollars--"You did a good job and earned this tip--but I'm going to 'spread the wealth' and give it to the homeless guy on the sidewalk out front, because he needs it more than you do'. The waiter humphed and stalked off. The lesson was probably lost on him. Do YOU get it?

i think people know but they don't care. i am not sure the average person on the street can even speak to what a socialist country is. if it means they get a check and the rich gets taken down a few knots, they are in.

yES, SADLY, YOU ARE RIGHT. fOR A DEMOCRACY TO WORK THE CITIZENS MUST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS. SADLY A VERY LARGE AND DISTINCT SEGMENT OF OUR SOCIETY IS NOT.
