RUNNING BACK? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN'...
Not the way we'd like to see the aquiring of a backfield, but, we'll take it...
"He's not here yet," Meyer said during his weekly news conference.
Meyer quickly realized his error and said, "He's not here." Then, he paused and said, "Oops."
Several media outlets reported Monday that Moody had chosen Florida over North Carolina, ending a week of speculation about where he would end up.
Moody visited Gainesville last week, touring the campus, meeting with players and coaches and deciding if he wanted to join the Gators.
He apparently made his decision Monday and was expected to enroll soon.
Moody, a 6-1, 205-pound sophomore from Texas, was Southern California's second-leading rusher last season. He gained 458 yards on 79 carries before missing the final four games because of a sprained ankle.
He decided to transfer after getting caught in a glut of highly touted tailbacks. He has to sit out the 2007 season under the NCAA's transfer rules and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Moody should find less of a logjam in Florida's backfield in 2008. Starter Kestahn Moore should be back, along with Mon Williams, Bo Williams and Chevon Walker.
Since we OWN Also Ran University in Ohio, why don't we just draft some of their players while we're at it?
Western Kentucky is poised to become a division one team:
In a 7-2 vote (with one abstention), the board accepted a proposal to elevate football from the NCAA Division I-AA classification to Division I-A status. The university will submit paperwork to the NCAA office in Indianapolis prior to June 1, 2007, and will be considered as a reclassifying institution for the 2007 and '08 seasons. The first year WKU will be eligible to participate for the Sun Belt Conference championship and a berth in a bowl game is 2009.
I couldn't find any odds on the game so maybe they're not taking bets...
GO GATORS, BEAT TOPS!!!
