The Match-Up
Ohio State and Florida meet for the first time in history. In a battle of the top two teams in the nation, the Big Ten champion Buckeyes and SEC champion Gators will play for college football’s ultimate prize, the BCS National Championship.
This Season
Ohio State and Florida enter the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game as the consensus top two teams in the nation. The Buckeyes finished the regular season 12-0 with wins over Texas and Michigan, teams that were ranked No. 2 at game time. The Gators finished the regular season at 12-1 with wins over LSU, at Tennessee and against Arkansas in the SEC Championship Game.

Ohio State in the BCS National Championship Game
The Ohio State Buckeyes will be making their second appearance in a BCS National Championship Game. The Buckeyes defeated Miami, 31-24, in a double-overtime classic in the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Florida in the BCS National Championship Game
The Florida Gators will be making their first appearance in a BCS National Championship Game. The Gators played Nebraska in the 1996 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl for the national championship and won the following the year in the Sugar Bowl to claim the national title.
Coach Tressel in the BCS National Championship Game
Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel will be making his second appearance in a BCS National Championship Game. He led the Buckeyes to an upset victory over Miami – a team that had won 34 consecutive games -- in the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. He has led the Buckeyes to four BCS bowls in his six years at Ohio State.
Coach Meyer in the BCS National Championship Game
Florida head coach Urban Meyer will be making his first appearance in a BCS National Championship Game. He has appeared in two BCS bowls, leading Utah to the 2005 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl as the head coach and Notre Dame to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in 2001 as the receivers coach.

Team Payout
The teams participating in the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game will receive between $14 million and $17 million each from the Bowl Championship Series.
Network Television
Fox will televise the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game. Thom Brenneman, Barry Alvarez and Charles Davis will call the action from the booth, with Chris Myers serving as the sideline reporter.
Radio
ESPN Radio will broadcast the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game nationally with the local broadcast on ESPN Radio 860 AM.
