Dear Rick and Bette,

Thank you for bringing up the veterans and acknowledging them at your Memorial Day Poolside Picnic.
It may seem like a simple  little thing, but to many of these old soldiers it is a big deal and greatly appreciated.  But their Pride  probably won't let anybody know just  how much it means to them.

Viet Nam vets returned home to a divided country and most didn't receive a "parade". Many received the opposite. It may not be widely known, but even today,  almost four decades since the end of the war, when Viet Nam vets first meet, their  usual greeting to one another is "Welcome Home, Brother."
