Fighting the Flames...I have been a bad boy in the Geocaching.com forums. I am warned and threatened and a post deleted, and "Vinnie" is protected forever from my ever challenging him again. A restraining order, I guess. He is free to flame people in the forums with his mean spirited psychoanalysis without fear of retribution from me.
Guess I said the wrong thing about the wrong person. Actually, I think this is in response to something else entirely, for publicly outing a moderator the other day for lying and misleading in one of his posts in order to shift blame from himself to an innocent, another thing I can't let stand. This moderator is arrogant and arbitrary, but they couldn't warn me about correcting his lies, obviously, so instead this happens. Just a guess.
Even the guidelines say not to take on the moderators, but, as they say, Evil Triumphs when good men stand by and do nothing. I will not cave in to the Forum Nazis.
I will in future stay away from their little darling "Vinnie" however--he's not worth getting banned over.
By the way, I have no ongoing "feud" with this arrogant self-serving troll. That's pure fantasy. Probably been a year or so since I've posted in reaction to his drivel...
Anyway, his tenderness is now in a protection system:
Overall, judging from the overall tone of your note and your admitted self-imposed limitations (i.e., the fact that you state that you will only place geocaches in your own (admittedly small) town and nowhere else), and based upon the sheer number of complaints which you have cited, this all suggests to me that you may have a bit of a sense of entitlement and have a concomitant habit of always harping on the negative instead of appreciating the things you do like. I hate to get all "spiritual" and metaphysical on you, but you did ask for my opinion, so here goes: it has been my personal observation in life that when someone has as many complaints as do you, and sounds as helpless and victimized as do you, and sounds as unhappy as do you, there is usually a lot more to the story, and there is usually a rather major attitude problem, namely, a sense of entitlement along with a lack of gratitude and appreciation, and also inability to let go of things and move on with grace and ease.
