BITE THE BULLET

Buh-bye!

It is 6:48 a.m. and cloudy and windy and 53.5 degrees F. Patrick is outside. Well, the front bumper of the Dakota is pretty well rusted out on both sides. I found a new bumper on the world wide web for a buck seventy, not so bad. You can't find them in the junkyard like I did for my Jeep DJ7. That had a badly bent bumper when I got it. What a chore, trying to get it off the junkyard vehicle. I think I finally had the guy torch it off. Anyway, I did manage to get my bent bumper off and the new one on, but it was a real life experience. Worked on it a little every day: 23, yes, count them TWENTY THREE rusted bolts to deal with!!

So I think I'll get a quote from the Dodge dealer. If it's not legendary, who knows? Depends on whether or not t he brackets are good, I guess. They aren't cheap, either...

OK, so Dogs, we said goodbye to the Gilmore Girls last night. Thanks for seven great years of Tuesday nights, you little honeys!!! Very good series finale last night. Lorilie (sic?) gets back with Luke. So, it's all good. Goodbye Stars Hollow!! Lauren never got an emmy did she?

Shame!

Oh, I almost forgot! Speaking of SHAME-- Yesterday was the annual stupid Don't Buy any GAS today day--and the oil companies around her shoved it squarely up our collective asses by jacking up prices 20CENTS PER GALLON!!! - FROM $3.20 TO $3.40...BASTARDS!

I guess the republican politicians really cut each other up last night in a debate. Mitt Romny, arguably one of the more attractivae candidates got gored for his flip-flopism on a number of issues. But a dem took the cruelist bash: "Congress has spent like Edwards in a beauty shop": He may never live that down. Is that his Dukakis in a tank or his howl?

In the words of President Dwight Eisenhower, "It is fitting and proper that we devote one day each year to paying special tribute to those whose constancy and courage constitute one of the bulwarks guarding the freedom of this nation and the peace of the free world."

Since the opening shots of the American Revolution on 19 April 1775, American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen have plowed the ground for freedom. We remain the proud and the free because they remain on post today. For this, we, the American People, offer our heartfelt thanks.
