GO AHEAD, DO IT AGAIN

happy halloweenie!!!

It is 8:03 a.m. and 47.7 degrees out. Patrick got up and went back to Bed with Junior.

Junior and I had a Dirty Jobs with Mike marathon last night to edit out commercials and save to disc about a dozen episodes...

FROM USAF#1 VIA THE INBOX:

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by
the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of
empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying, "Over the years,
the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great
peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we
have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not
return."

It became very quiet in the room.

Then there was a conference in France where a number of international
engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break
one of the French engineers came back into the room saying "Have you heard
the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to
Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb
them?"

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three
hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear
powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities;
they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three
meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from
sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in
transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have
eleven such ships; how many does France have?"

Once again, dead silence.

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included
Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies.
At a co cktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of
Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone
was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French
admiral suddenly complained that, 'whereas Europeans learn many languages,
Americans learn only English.' He then asked, 'Why is it that we always
have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied 'Maybe it s because the
Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have
to speak German.'

You could have heard a pin drop!

MORON LIAR APOLOGIZES

An Apology From Richt

Georgia Coach Mark Richt sent a letter today to SEC Commissioner Mike Slive apologizing for the Bulldogs’ planned celebration following their opening touchdown against Florida on Saturday.

Following Knowshon Moreno’s touchdown, about 70 Georgia players ran into the end zone and began jumping up and down. The celebration drew multiple penalties.

Here is an excerpt from Richt’s letter:

Two weeks ago when our preparation began for the Florida game I told the team that we have got to have more energy and enthusiasm in this ballgame or we are going to get whipped pretty good. I said, as a matter of fact, when we score our first touchdown, I expect you guys to celebrate to the point where the official will throw a flag for excessive celebration. I admit this was inappropriate. What I had envisioned was for the eleven guys on the field to celebrate the score. On the day of the game I re-emphasized to the team that this was not going to be an individual celebration, but a team celebration. Again, I was expecting the eleven players on the field to be doing the celebrating, not for the bench to clear as it did. I understand that the entire team running on the field created the potential for an altercation and that excessive celebration is not in compliance with the Southeastern Conference sportsmanship policies and expected standards. My only intention was to create enthusiasm.

I apologize that I put everyone in that situation and specifically apologize to you, the Southeastern Conference, and the University of Florida. You can be assured I will not ask our team to do this type of thing again.

Charles Bloom, the associate commissioner of the SEC, told The Associated Press that Slive received the letter and “accepts his apology.” The league plans no disciplinary action against Richt, Bloom added.

NO WAY!

It is 7:02 a.m. and 40.9 degrees. Patrick is still in bed and so is Junior.

While examining our hard drive recording of the CBS broadcast of the Kentucky game, to see if we could see ourselves in the crowd shots, we came across an interesting phenomenon, one we had noted before, but this time decided to investigate. You can draw your own conclusions.

CAMERA SHOTS OF UK CHEERLEADERS: 19
CAMERA SHOTS OF UF CHEERLEADERS: 05

CAMERA SHOTS OF CHEERING UK FANS: 22
CAMERA SHOTS OF CHEERING UF FANS: 10
Amazingly camera shots of Coaches, Bands, and Mascots were EXACTLY EVEN at 45, 3, and 1 respectively....

OK, so our results were: We identified ourselves as pixel sized orange dots in both the game coverage and ESPN game day broadcasts. Couldn't view Chic-filet SEC tailgate as we didn't record it. So it goes. We did get the Ultimate Fan video posted on ESPN's website tho!

Colts and Patriots ply next weekend, both undefeated, Brady vs. Peyton (Never Beat Florida) Manning--we're stoked!!

COLLEGE COACH MAKES SHAMEFUL MORAL ERROR

Lead Dog and Star of Team Tigger International at All Hallows Event

BIPPUS AREA GEOCACHERS EXECUTIVE BOARD AT ALL-HALLOWS EVENT IN HUNTINGTON YESTERDAY

It is 7:34 a.m. and 36.1 degrees out. Patrick got up and went downstairs to sleep with Junior and whoever else is down there.

Well, the Gators Season is over, no thanks to our favorite minus-two-yards-a-carry runner Keshaun (or whatever) Moore's stupid play. No SEC game, no national championship. Time to move on.

It's ok. Rest of the games on schedule mean nothing, just play for fun and pride, no pressure.

WE HOPE URBAN MEYER PLAYS CAM NEWTON TO GET HIM EXPERIENCE FOR NEXT YEARS CHAMPIONSHIP RUN.

Tim Tebow is still the best college football player in the country. Had he been at 100% and allowed to run in the first half, the Gators would have left Jax with a victory.

At the risk of sounding like sour grapes:

MARK REICHT'S SENDING HIS WHOLE BENCH OUT TO CELEBRATE IN THE END-ZONE AFTER THEIR FIRST TOUCHDOWN WAS THE WORST DISPLAY OF UNSPORTSMAN-LIKE CONDUCT BY A COLLEGE FOOTBALL COACH WE HAVE EVER SEEN, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WOODY HAYES SLUGGING A PLAYER. HE DID NOT DENY IT WAS PLANNED WHEN CONFRONTED BY SIDELINE MEDIA. HE ADMITTED TO TELLING THE TEAM TO COMMIT THIS DANGEROUS PENALTY BEFORE THE GAME. THE NCAA SHOULD SEVERELY SANCTION THE COACH AND THE SCHOOL FOR THIS. AND I DON'T MEAN A PALTRY FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLAR FINE WHICH MEANS SQUAT TO A BIG PROGRAM OR A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE COACH. WE DON'T THINK REICHT SHOULD BE FIRED OR THE GAME FORFEIT. BUT WE DO THINK THE NCAA SHOULD SEND A MESSAGE WITH A BAN ON A BOWL, OR TAKING OF SCHOLARSHIPS, BECAUSE BIG TIME PROGRAMS JUST BRAG ABOUT THEIR FINES FOR EXCESSIVE CELEBRATION OR RUSHING THE FIELD. MARK REICHT'S UNPRECEDENTED PREMEDITATED PUTTING OF TWO FOOTBALL TEAMS IN HARM'S WAY MUST NOT GO UNPUNISHED. WE'RE SURE NOBODY, ESPECIALLY THE MEDIA,WILL AGREE WITH US ON THIS, BUT OUR MORAL COMPASS IS TRUE HERE IN FLY-OVER LAND AND WE CAN SEE CLEARLY, EVEN IF OTHERS CAN'T. IN OUR EYES, THIS COACH HAS DEGRADED HIMSELF AND HIS TEAM TO THE DEPTHS OF IRRELEVANCY WITH HIS INCREDIBLY STUPID ACT.

SHAME, SHAME!!

The cable guy came out yesterday and installed a new antennae for us, so we are back on High-Speed wireless again, this time receiving signals from a closer tower, one that is actually visible to us--It's lit up and brite as a star at night. So now we can continue cruising blogs and posting to them...

Our competition is a hottie dressed up as a Heisman Trophy, another father and son combo, this one with a Wildcat Head on the kid; and a guy with his shaved head painted as a UK helmet.

Our video has a clip at the end showing Coach Lee Corso giving us a YO!

TEBOW RISES TO THE TOP

FROM ZOOK FREE ZONE:

Florida's Soph QB Tebow Becomes Consensus Heisman Front-Runner

Ryan FergusonPosted Oct 23rd 2007 12:20PM by Ryan Ferguson
Filed under: Florida Football, SEC, Heisman
With his 5 TD performance against Kentucky, Tim Tebow did more than put Florida in the driver's seat for an SEC title berth. He became the consensus front-runner for the Heisman Trophy.

CBS Sportsline's Top 5: 1. Tim Tebow (37 points)
2. Andre' Woodson (24 points)
3. Dennis Dixon (16 points)
4. Matt Ryan (13 points)
5. Ray Rice (8 points)

What they're saying:

"Despite playing for a two-loss team, Tebow is in everybody's top two. He has accounted for 27 touchdowns, including 10 rushing and came up big this week against Kentucky. The big question is -- can a sophomore win the award?"

ESPN's Heisman Watch: 1. Tim Tebow
2. Matt Ryan
3. Andre Woodson
4. Dennis Dixon
5. Mike Hart

What they're saying:

"Tebow might not have won the Heisman this week, but he couldn't have been more impressive against Kentucky. He simply does it all. He threw for 256 yards (69 percent completion) for four touchdowns, and rushed for 78 yards and another score."

Heisman Pundit: 1. Tim Tebow
2. Darren McFadden
3. Mike Hart
4. Matt Ryan

What they're saying:

"Tim Tebow is out in front right now. The unique circumstances of this year's race has shaken the Heismandments to their very core. It is looking more and more like he may be the first sophomore to win."

The biggest threat to Tebow's brink-of-Heisman-history campaign? In my view, Mike Hart. If the diminutive RB can get back onto the playing field and make things happen for Michigan -- and the Wolverines defeat Ohio State to win the Big Ten -- voters might sigh with relief at some sense of normalcy in a wacky football season, and vote the little fella in.

This has been a good year for SEC candidates. Including Tebow, three Southeastern Conference players are still in contention for the award; the other two are Andre' Woodson and Darren McFadden.

1. If UF wins out, which is a big IF, then TT will be the first sophomore ever to win the Heisman. Reason? No one can say he is a system QB like Grossman was in '01. Grossman, as a sophomore, was the favorite going into the first week of December and the Gators choked at home to UT. One game shouldn't ruin your chances but Grossman was considered, like Brennan, a system QB and therefore his candidacy was suspect.

Why TT? Big time TV games, big time competition and a possible 11-2 team. Hard not to vote for him. Even my most ardent UGA and UT buddies admit he may be the best player in college football. However, if BC keeps this up, it would be hard not to vote for Matt Ryan.

INTERESTINGLY, THERE IS NO CONSENSUS RUNNER-UP...

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

It is 7:03 a.m. and 44.8 degrees. Patrick got up and is now downstairs sleeping with Junior.

Junior and I, as you may know, traveled down to Lexington to watch the Gators beat the 7th ranked Wildcats for the 21st time in a row.

We attended ESPN's College Game Day featuring Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso. When we arrived, with our five-foot plush Gator in tow, we were greeted by a chorus of Boos. No problem, quite Normal. But then, when we approached the line for the pit, we were pelted by full bottles of water. A guy rushed up and grabbed the Gator, and Junior was plunged into a tug of war. I grabbed the guys forearms and told him "You really don't want to do this." I must have convinced him, because he retreated. I have no doubt that if he had been successful, the toy would have been torn apart by the angry crowd. At no time, as far as I could discern, did any Kentucky fans attempt to discourage these hostile acts. As we left, I was hit in the leg with a crunched up beer can.

These were isolated incidents, but there were others, as well. One drunken student blocked my path, with lude gestures and words, but I just walked around him

Someone dropped a bottle from the top of the parking garage on us.

In no instances did we do anything by way of words or actions to provoke anybody(we're not that stupid).

At one point, three campus cops arrived on their bicycles, but stayed less than five minutes.

We did see one shirtless Kentucky fan hauled away in handcuffs. Probably one of the guys who were throwing bottles into the middle of the crowd at Gator fans, with no regard to who they hit. Or maybe he was one of the Kentucky fans ripping up Gator signs...

Just a few bad apples in the barrel, I suppose. Everybody else was generally good natured, and when we got inside Commonwealth, decorum and civility reigned.

At the GameDay post game show later in the evening, the County Cops told one Kentucky fan, "You've got thirty seconds to leave or you'll be arrested!" He left. He was heckling Lee Corso, and used some innappropriate language.

So it goes.

FROM THE PATRIOT POST:

“The new epitome for turning lemons into lemonade goes to talk show giant Rush Limbaugh. In the frothy wake of the perpetual acrimonious partisan spitting match between left and right, Limbaugh has eviscerated his petty mean spirited critics AND gifted a worthy charity with a financial windfall. The New Jersey-based Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, a charity that gives scholarship money to the children of service members killed in war or in public duty, will receive $4.2 million... The record setting e-Bay sale of a two-page letter (plus two additional pages of autographs) from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to Clear Channel Communications CEO Mark Mays ripping Limbaugh, was bought by DC philanthropist Betty Brown Casey for $2.1 million and was matched in kind by Limbaugh... Forty-one myopic partisan Democratic senators signed the letter (which they knew was a lie), demonstrating both their picayune pettiness and massive mob myopia. Rush said, ‘It got this kind of money because it represents one of the most outrageous abuses of federal power in modern American history, and that is what makes it a collector’s item. This letter that Senator Reid wrote will forever memorialize him as a demagogue.’... Contrast Congress with Betty Brown Casey and Rush Limbaugh and the variance is significant. Rush gets an ‘Attaboy’... Dingy Harry and his mean spirited minions get a wilted raspberry. More importantly, The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation gets $4.2-Million.” —Geoff Metcalf
